The machine is composed of a central body constructed of bent, shaped and bolted sheet steel so as to form a load bearing body for the various equipment, closing doors, dust aspirator and filters, as well as the entrance and exit supports. It also fulfils the need for a closed cabin.
This cabin has two lateral openings protected by wide, anti-dust brushes and rubber that allow the sheet glass to pass through for manufacture.
The machine is open at the top to allow for the manufacture of sheet glass of more than 1600 mm.
The front door is for loading the sand, for the sandblasting of small pieces and also for inspecting the interior of the machine. It has a central transparent panel and a suitably protected lateral opening for manual sandblasting.
An area connected to rear of the cabin via a shaped siphon that acts as a dust filter contains 10 special polyester filter-hoses, a centrifugal fan to produce suction and a counter-current “washing” system that automatically cleans the filters.
The vertical processing of sheet glass has many advantages in comparison with flat processing. The size of the machine is considerably less than a corresponding flat machine and the position of the sheet glass on the roller automatically obtains the fixed zero point without error to the extent that the stroke is certain.
Furthermore, horizontal machines must be perfectly even to avoid breaking the glass whereas with vertical machines, the position of the glass is naturally aligned since it is supported from underneath.
The sheet glass is supported by supports equipped with a motorised anti-rip conveyor belt. The automatic conveyor belt moves the sheet glass to the cabin.
The bottom of the cabin, shaped like a hopper, collects the sand that is then suctioned by a venturi system and used by the spray jets.
The spray jets can be single or multiple. The number determines the power of the machine and therefore the sandblasting speed. In the standard automatic version there is one jet for manual sandblasting and one automatic jet that guarantees a good production speed and an excellent and well-diffused sandblasting, without excessively consuming too much air.
A motorised arm, called the “reciprocator” on account of its alternating movement, moves the spray jets from the base to the top and vice versa. The specific area to be sandblasted can be conveniently programmed using the appropriate commands of the touch-screen control panel.
A vertical support grate supports the sheet glass during processing and is protected by brushes so as to not scratch the glass.
The program that controls the machine is managed entirely onboard the machine using the touch-screen panel. The software is quick and easy to use and is suitable even for beginners. It allows the operator to program the specific areas of the glass to be sandblasted (up to 99 possibilities). In each of these areas you can program any eventual nuances, which are also managed automatically by the software.
